2. Unlatched doors can be used in building provided they are tested and certified by the NABL 
or internationally approved laboratory. 3. Fire doors shall be provided with smoke seal. 4. Doors on the exits and exit pathway shall be insulated for minimum 30minutes and with 
intumescent seal. 5. Fire doors shall allow for ready egress along the exit pathway in case of an emergency. 6. Hardware:
a) All hardware used on the fire door should be equally fire rated. E.g, hinges, locks, 
panic devices, door closers etc.
